Oradell Resident Charged with Theft from USPS

While working at Walgreens, Alvin Fuchs allegedly stole $6,200 in postage stamps

Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced the arrest of Alvin Fuchs, 60, of Oradell on the charge of theft in a press release today. Fuchs was arrested without incident at his Oradell residence, according to the press release.

The arrest came about as a result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit, under the direction of Chief Steven Cucciniello, and the United States Postal Inspection Service.

According to the release, the arrest stemmed from an investigation in which Alvin Fuchs is alleged to have stolen postage stamps from Walgreens Corporation and used the Internet to sell them for profit. Fuchs arrest capped off a three month long investigation in which it is believed that Fuchs is responsible for a loss of about $6200 in US postage. Fuchs is employed by Walgreens as Store manager, in Waldwick.

According to a report on NorthJersey.com, Fuchs was released from the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack after posting $15,000 bail. 

 Prosecutor Molinelli states that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.  Prosecutor Molinelli would like to thank the United States Postal Inspection Service and the Oradell Police Department for their assistance with this investigation and arrest.
