Oradell Train Crossing Will Reopen Tonight
Residents urged to continue using New Milford Avenue until then
The Oradell Avenue train crossing is expected to reopen around 7pm tonight after being closed since Friday morning due to NJ Transit repairing the crossing. Oradell Avenue, east of Kinderkamack Road is closed to pedestrians until the crossing is reopened as well. Until the crossing is reopened, residents will need to continue using New Milford Avenue to head into New Milford or over to St. Joseph RC Church or Grant Field.
Over the weekend, NJ Transit closed the crossing so as to "rehabilitate" part of the Pascack Valley Line.
“We need to rehabilitate four crossings on the Pascack Valley Line,” said spokeswoman Penny Bassett Hackett in a recent report. “Some have not been rehabilitated in 15 years. "
