FH Borough Council Meeting Rescheduled

Monday's regular meeting cancelled due to lack of quorum

Call it the meeting that wasn't ... but will be on Thursday at 6 p.m., as all were re-noticed by Clerk/Assistant Administrator Allyson Cinquegrana, providing the required 48-hour notice according to the Sunshine Law.

When people gathered last night for the Fair Haven Borough Council meeting, they were told that there would be no meeting, because there was no quorum.

Between council members' absences and what Mayor Ben Lucarelli said was a family emergency that called away the one council member needed to comprise a quorum, the meeting had to be cancelled.

"Municipal law says that we cannot conduct a public meeting without the sufficient number of governing body members present (a quorum)," Lucarelli said. "We had just the number we needed until one of our council members had an emergency that prevented him from attending."

He thanked people for coming to the scheduled meeting and said notice of the rescheduled meeting would be circulated as soon as possible, giving the required 48 hours.
