Atlantic City in the Nifty Fifties

Join us at the Scotch Plains Public Library on Thursday, October 9, 2025 for an author talk about Atlantic City in the 1950s. Local author Rosie Genova will present a slice of Atlantic City life, based on her research for her latest release- Murder on the Steel Pier, which is set in 1955.

Known as “America’s Playground,” mid-century Atlantic City was a vibrant and bustling vacation spot. Its Steel Pier was an entertainment destination, with shows featuring such stars as Frank Sinatra, Bill Haley and the Comets, and jazz singer Sarah Vaughn.

All this and more provided the inspiration for Rosie’s mystery novel. Join her for a presentation about the fascinating “Monopoly City,” followed by a short Q&A.
