Scotch Plains Public Library is hosting 3 Birding Events in October, an important birding month- See how you can get involved!

Special Screening of Flyways: The Incredible Journey of Shorebirds
Monday, October 7 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm at the Scotch Plains Public Library
Flyways, a PBS nature documentary, tells the story of the world’s most incredible athletes – shorebirds, who fly up to nine days non-stop without food or water!
Flyways invites you to follow a conservation movement of bird-loving experts and citizen scientists as they mobilize to the challenge of understanding and saving shorebirds.

Join us on Thursday, October 10 at the Library for a presentation by SPFHS teacher Zach Rittner, who will introduce us to a variety of free, helpful apps you can download to help you identify birds and report your findings and prepare you for the Big Day bird count!

October Big Day at Trailside Nature & Science Center
Saturday, October 12, 2024 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm at Trailside Nature & Science Center
Trailside staff will lead guided bird walks at 9:30am. There will be additional bird-centered activities for all ages during the morning!
Registration is encouraged so we can know how many participants to expect.
