SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ — After a long campaign season, Election Day 2019 is finally here in Scotch Plains-Fanwood. There are a number of races on the ballot in Scotch Plains-Fanwood this November, including school board.

Here is everything you need to know about Election Day in your town:

You can see the sample ballot for Scotch Plains District 1, 2, 7 here, Scotch Plains District 3-6 and 8-23, Fanwood District 1 here and Fanwood District 2 -7.

Scotch Plains

The school board has an uncontested race with two candidates vying for the two open three-year seats. Check out the profile on each candidate below by clicking their names.

Scotch Plains School Board candidates include:

Fanwood:

Fanwood's Mayoral race is uncontested with Colleen Mahr running unopposed for the four-year seat.

The Fanwood council race on the other hand is contested with four candidates vying for the two open three-year seats. Candidates include Democrats Katherine Mitchell and Francine Glaser running against Republicans Brian Walter and Jay Morris.

There is also an unexpired seat up for grabs with only one person running - Democrat Jeffrey Banks.

Fanwood's school board is also contested with two candidates vying for the only open three-year seats. Candidates include Scott Brelinsky and Amy Winkler.

Both Scotch Plains and Fanwood residents will also vote on their two representatives in the New Jersey State Assembly District 22. Democrat incumbents James Kennedy and Linda S. Carter are running against Republican challenger Patricia Quattrocchi.

Democrat James S. La Corte is facing off against Republican Peter B. Lijoi for the surrogate seat.

Three seats on the Board of Chosen Freeholders are up for election. Republicans Peter G. Kane and Glenn E. Gelband are running against Democrats Bette Jane Kowalski, Sergio Granados,

and Rebecca L. Williams.

Where do I vote?

Your polling place is included on a sample ballot mailed out to all registered voters. If you're still not sure, or you misplaced that sample ballot, you can look up your polling location on the Union County Election Division's website.

When can I vote?

Election Day 2019 is Tuesday, Nov. 5. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
