Social Justice Matters Meet & Greet

Want to know more about opportunities to work for justice and equity?

On Thursday evening, November 1, members of Social Justice Matters will be at the Railside Café (formerly Mara’s) from 7 to 8 o’clock, to share who we are and what we do with our neighbors. SJM is holding this event as a response to local residents’ requests for open and honest discussions on race. Working with the Martin Luther King, Jr. Association of Westfield, SJM has received funding from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities to offer just such conversations in our communities. “Dialog Circles on Race,” a five-part free series will begin in Scotch Plains/Fanwood and Westfield this winter.

SJM members are looking forward to sharing information about Dialogue Circles and other SJM involvements with neighbors who want to explore opportunities to take positive action to further goals of equity and inclusion.

Railside Café is located opposite the Fanwood train station, at 250 South Ave, Fanwood. No R.S.V.P. is necessary. See the SJM website for more information.
