Tree Seedlings Given Away at Fanwood Arbor Day Program

Park Middle School students help dispense the seedlings.

The Fanwood Shade Tree Commission gave away 60 tree seedlings during its annual Arbor Day Program in Carriage House Park earlier this month. The seedlings were provided by the New Jersey Tree Recovery Campaign. The Park Middle School Environmental Club attended the event and potted the seedlings in containers. The seedlings, which are black gums trees also known as tupelo trees, will grow to at least 60 feet tall and will provide abundant shade in years to come. Pictured here are club members, Jessica Gui, Hannah Alber, Hannah Spieler, and Erin Ryan.
