Warming Center Set Up For Scotch Plains, Fanwood Locals

The Scotch Plains Municipal Building has been set up as a warming center for Fanwood and Scotch Plains residents through Sunday.

SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ — The Scotch Plains Municipal Building has been set up as a warming center for Fanwood and Scotch Plains residents due to the blizzard and very low temperatures.

The center was set up by the Fanwood Police Department and the Scotch Plains Police Department and will continue to run as such through Sunday.

"Prior to seeking relief please contact the Fanwood Police Department who will make all of the necessary arrangements for you and your family," Fanwood Police Chief Richard Trigo said.

When visiting a relief station, bring any medications and/or specialty items that you may need. Residents and visitors are urged to limit exposure outside.

All residents are encouraged to check on elderly neighbors, and advise them of the warming station and to contact the Fanwood Police Department in the event of an emergency.
