Cabaret at the Baird on Saturday
The performance includes selections from classic and contemporary Broadway shows.

Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre will collaborate with Jazz at the Baird to present "Music From the Silver Screen" on Saturday, Jan. 16, at 8 p.m.
The cabaret performance includes music from Broadway shows that have made the transition to film, such as "Chicago," and some that have gone from film to stage, such as "The Full Monty." Selections range from "You're Getting to be a Habit with Me" from "42nd Street," produced in the 1930s, to "The Travel Song" from "Shrek."
Dreamcatcher's vocalists include Resident Acting Company members Clark Carmichael and Harry Patrick Christian (Montclair), Laura Ekstrand (Livingston), and Scott McGowan (Maplewood). Completing the cast is Tricia Burr (Summit), who has appeared at Dreamcatcher and is managing director of 12 Miles West Theatre. George Cullinan (Summit), a professional musician and vocal coach, will accompany on piano.

Although Dreamcatcher has been in residence at the Baird for seven years, this is their first joint performance project with Jazz at The Baird, a concert series whose past performers include TS Monk, Claudio Roditi and the Caribbean Jazz Project. While Jazz at The Baird will continue to offer jazz performances, the program is now drawing on its reputation to expand into other genres of music to provide greater diversity for a broader audience. Meanwhile, Dreamcatcher is expanding its programming to include music in addition to dramatic and comedic offerings throughout the year.
Tickets are $15 in advance, Dreamcatcher non-members, and $20 at the door, Dreamcatcher non-members, and may be purchased online or by calling 973-378-7754. Tickets may also be purchased at the Baird or at Rocketship & Print.
