May is Older Americans
Month and in honor of the occasion, Village Apartments of the Jewish Federation
is hosting a free program on May 13 that is open to the public. Karen Frank, RN
will lead attendees on an exploration of what it means to them to stay
independent, and share ways to maintain optimal health and vitality through the
aging process. The interactive program, which begins at 5:30 p.m., is open to
seniors throughout Essex County. Advance reservations are requested and can be
made by calling (973) 763-0999.
Frank is the founder of
Project SHIN (Spiritual Healing Integrating Nursing), a private nursing
practice that integrates spiritual and physical wellness. She makes home visits
to provide care to families in the wider community and she also serves as the
pastoral nurse for four local synagogues. In that capacity, she works with
families who are undergoing medical or aging challenges to find better
solutions to their situations.
