• Springfield to Target Intoxicating Hemp Beverage Sales With Proposed 2% Excise Tax Ordinance (tapinto.net) — Springfield officials are considering a new ordinance that would add a 2% excise tax on intoxicating hemp beverages sold in town, even though no cannabis businesses currently operate locally. The Township Committee introduced the measure in August, and residents can weigh in at a public hearing scheduled for Sept. 8.
