Celebrate National Public Gardens Day at Reeves-Reed Arboretum

Join in the celebration of National Public Gardens Day by coming out to Reeves-Reed Arboretum on Friday, May 11th. There will be a guided walking tour of the gardens in peak bloom at 11:00, and an art exhibit featuring contemporary botanical portraitures is on display in Wisner House. The Magnified Eye: Contemporary Botanical Portraiture is a breathtaking exhibit, featuring original watercolors on paper and vellum from 13 artists around the globe.  There is no cost associated with National Public Gardens Day, and all attendees will receive a special gift in honor of the day.  Registration is not required.

National Public Gardens Day is a national day of celebration to raise awareness of America's public gardens and their important role in promoting environmental stewardship and awareness, plant and water conservation, and education in communities nationwide. This special day is presented by the nonprofit American Public Gardens Association in partnership with Rainbird.

Reeves-Reed Arboretum is the only public garden and one of the largest green spaces in the City of Summit. It is the only arboretum in Union County. The Arboretum seeks to engage, educate and enrich its visitors so they may become better stewards of nature and the environment. This mission is achieved through the care and utilization of an historic estate and gardens. Reeves-Reed Arboretum is listed on both the National and New Jersey Historic Registries, and is a member of the Garden State Gardens Consortium, American Public Gardens Association and the American Association of Museums. For more information, please visit the website at www.reeves-reedarboretum.org.
