Three Summit High School Seniors Named National Merit Semifinalists (tapinto.net) — Three Summit High School seniors have been named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists, putting them among the top-scoring students in the country. Brianna Cui, Yimeng Guo, and Hunter Patel now move on to a competitive application phase that could bring them scholarship offers and national recognition through 2027.
   

2. Salerno Duane Summit High School Athlete of the Week: Mili Muro Shines for Summit Gymnastics (tapinto.net) — Summit residents can cheer on sophomore gymnast Mili Muro, who has boosted her scores on every event and is now dominating vault, bars, and beam for the Hilltoppers. Recognized as Summit High School's Athlete of the Week, she leads a 2–2 squad that hosts Scotch Plains-Fanwood at home Monday night.
   

3. Something Is Waiting in the Woods at Summit's Haunted Hike (tapinto.net) — Summit's Haunted Hike returns to Martin's Brook Park on Friday, Oct. 9, with separate "less scary" and "super scary" evening walks for local families. Butler Parkway will close between Hartley Road and Canoe Brook Place during the event, and visitors are encouraged to check the city's Haunted Hike page for traffic updates and bring a suggested $5 donation.
   

4. NJ's Best High Schools Ranked In New Analysis (patch.com) — Summit Senior High School earns a spot on Niche's latest list of New Jersey's top public high schools, placing local students in elite company statewide. The analysis uses test data and millions of parent and student reviews, and also highlights several nearby private schools, including Kent Place and The Pingry School, among the state's best.
