PHOTOS: Hilltopper Holiday Classic In Summit

SUMMIT, NJ - For the eighth time in as many years the Summit and Debate team hosted 27 schools and over 320 competitors at its 8th annual tournament Saturday, Dec 8.

Dressed in holiday attire, the team members welcomed the schools with holiday carols when they arrived and and served as guides throughout the day.

According to organizers, coaches, judges, and students from several schools praised the tournament as efficient, fun, and their favorite of the year.

While most of the team were busy with the Hilltopper Holiday Classic, Debate Coach Jim Poyner took 18 debaters to the Ridge Debates. Their scores are:

NOVICE PUBLIC FORUM

• 1ST PLACE-Jeremiah Cohn and Wyatt Rogoff
• Octa-finals- Christina Guo and Emma Arricale

The field included 83 teams.

VARSITY PUBLIC FORUM

• Nick Clements and Angela Li
• Pat Ammaturo, Pierce Baldacci

• Anthony Yu and Alex Supran
• Elizabeth Offer and Lucas Hawkins

Four of the five teams advanced to out rounds, most of any school in the 107 team field.
