SUMMIT, NJ — God may have been watching, but that didn't stop someone from filching a pricy flute from a local church, according to the Summit police.
Police said that at 7:12 a.m. on April 26, someone reported a burglary at a Woodland Avenue church.
The victim wasn't sure exactly when the incident happened, but it was within the last few days. The theif gained entry through an unsecured door in the building, the victim said.

Police said, "The only item noted to have been stolen was a flute, silver in color, approximately 34 inches in length [that] had been stored in a black instrumental case."
The victim said the flute was worth $1,500.

Meanwhile, at least one Summit church opened back up for private prayer this past weekend, so more eyes will be watching.
