St. John's Lutheran Church continues journey through Lent

On April 6th, St. John’s Lutheran Church in Summit continues its Lenten journey with worship at 8:00 and 10:30 AM in the sanctuary. Some of the themes on the fifth Sunday of Lent include Jesus’ raising of Lazarus from the dead, Ezekiel’s prophecy that God will breath life into dry bones, and Psalm 130’s lamentation, “Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord.”

The Adult Choir will sing “Out of the Deep” from John Rutter's Requiem at the 10:30 AM service with Pattie Gould, cellist. Pattie and Kirsten Russler, violinist, will play Bach’s Aria from Suite No. 3 for the offering music, Kenneth Bryson, tenor, will sing “O Christ the Same” during communion, and the One-Week Handbell Choir will perform “As the Deer Runs to the River” for the prelude.

All are welcome at St. John’s. The church is at 587 Springfield Ave. in Summit, NJ 07901. 908 273-3846; Web: stjohnssummit.org; Facebook: StJohnsSummit
