Summit Cops: Stolen Car, Medical Supplies Start September

SUMMIT, NJ - September started off with a stolen car, according to the Summit Police Department. On Sept. 3, a 2005 Volkswagen Touareg was reported stolen from a Colony Drive residence, police said. According to the report the car went missing between Sept. 2 and Sept. 3 and the owner was unsure if the vehicle was locked or if the key had been left inside when it was taken.

• Sept. 3 saw a Rowan Road resident call in a report that their home was ransacked. According to the report someone came into the home on Sept. 2 or Sept. 3 and burglarized it. Patrol responded and conducted an interior check and exterior check of the home. While investigating, patrol discovered multiple rooms had been ransacked. The Detective Bureau was notified to respond and process the scene.
• Summit Police responded to a business on Beauvoir Avenue on Sept. 8 where medical supplies were said to be taken. According to the victim, one set of Cheetah Medical Electrodes valued at approximately $3,625 was taken sometime on Aug. 31.
• Sept. 8 saw Summit Police take another report for theft of medical equipment from a business on Beauvoir Avenue. The victim stated the incident occurred on Aug. 5 and one Philips Portable Monitor, valued at approximately $3,625 was taken.
