SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit Police Department Detective Bureau is losing one of their own as Administrative Assistant Pamela Ferreira is leaving.

According to officials, Ferreira is retiring after 18 dedicated years of service to the department.

Ferreira spearheaded many activities involving the department including the Youth Academy Sessions and the Police Bicycle Auctions. Many are familiar with Ferreira as she was a point of contact for firearms ID cards, firearms permits and fingerprinting. She handled the transcribing of statements for the detectives, gathered critical and supporting documents to have sent to the Union County Prosecutors Office, New Jersey State Police and a slew of federal agencies for investigations, and filled a support role within the Detective Bureau, along with many other tasks she undertook on the day to day, officials noted.
