Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad Awarded $10K Grant

SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad has received a $10,000 grant from the Summit Area Public Foundation (SAPF) to purchase three-season, all-weather jackets for use by its 65 volunteer members.
The First Aid Squad applied to SAPF for a grant to purchase highly-reflective yellow jacket shells with zip-in liners that would be visible both day and night, and provide ample protection from the elements in rainy and cold weather.

“This generous grant from the Summit Area Public Foundation will keep our members warm and dry when responding during emergencies,” said Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad President John Buscaino. “The bright yellow, reflective color is highly visible and will enhance safety during calls. We thank SAPF for its dedication to the squad and support of our mission to provide the best possible emergency medical service.”

The Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad, Inc. is an independent non-profit corporation dedicated to providing emergency medical services (EMS), non-emergency ambulance transportation, and safety training to the Summit community. All services are provided free of charge and funded entirely through private donations.
