Summit's National Night Out Against Crime Rescheduled
The annual night out will be held in October instead of August due to coronavirus, at the request of the national organization.

SUMMIT, NJ — The Summit Police Department has rescheduled its annual National Night Out event from Aug. 4 to Oct. 6, following a request from the National Association of Town Watch to move the annual event to that date to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.
National Night out is a community-building event that annually takes place on the first Tuesday in August. A variety of federal, state, county, and municipal-level agencies come together with community members in an effort to build a safer and well-connected community. In the past, there have been demonstrations by Union County SWAT, NJ State Police, FBI, K-9, and Summit Police, Fire, EMS, and Public Works Departments.
