Bergen WIB Hosting An Event To Connect Youth Serving Professionals To Local Resources
The Bergen County Workforce Investment Board (Bergen WIB) is hosting an event to benefit youth at-risk of dropping out of school.

The Bergen County Workforce Investment Board (Bergen WIB) is hosting an event to benefit youth at-risk of dropping out of school, do not have a diploma, or are unemployed and facing barriers to successful entry into adulthood.
The free event takes place on Friday, June 12, from 9:30am to 2:30pm at the Bergen Community College Ciarco Learning Center, 355 Main Street in Hackensack. Space is limited, and all participants must pre-register by June 9, 2015.
Included in the event are presentations by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, Office of the Bergen County Superintendent, and the Bergen One-Stop Career Center. Workshops and exhibits will connect adult attendees to information and resources that provide these youth with the wraparound support services, access to opportunities, and skill development needed to succeed in multiple life domains across home, school, community, and the workforce.

This event is a fantastic opportunity to facilitate the expansion of our school-workforce-community network. Together we can empower young people to overcome a range of complex needs and break down barriers so that they can achieve their personal, academic, and job goals.
The event is open to guidance counselors, parent-teacher counselors, school administrators, teachers at all levels, workforce readiness coordinators, business community leaders, health and human service professionals, before- and after-school program staff, criminal justice professionals, mentors and parents of at-risk youth, youth leaders from faith based, community based, and volunteer organizations, and other youth serving professionals.

The exposition area will showcase businesses that provide job opportunities, and nonprofit organizations that provide services to youth. It is an opportunity to educate and share resources with peers. Space must be reserved. Materials must be approved and related to the event. Tables will be available.
