Important Notice for RSVP for October 31st What's Your Grief Cafe's Meet Up.Please note: This Friday is the deadline to RSVP for our October 31st gathering so we can finalize seating and presentation materials. Thank you all so much for your continued support and kind consideration! What’s Your Grief CaféWhat if there were a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental community space where you could go to freely express your grief and be heard—validated without anyone trying to "fix" you—surrounded by others who truly get it? Would you go?And once you arrived, what if you were invited to share—or simply sit quietly if you weren't ready to speak? Would you feel comfortable enough to stay? What if you were told you could converse with a lost loved one—a person or a cherished pet—via a "Wind Phone"? A direct line with no need to dial, where you can speak into the wind and feel heard. What would you say? What would you ask? How would it feel afterward? And if the words were too hard to say aloud, what if you could put pen to paper at a writing station, seal your thoughts in an envelope, stamp it, and drop it in a mailbox? What would you write? What would you want them to know? Would it bring a sense of comfort and release? You might be thinking to yourself: "There is no place like this..."You would be wrong. Temple Emeth, Teaneck, NJ

Prof Foster Hirsch, Film Historian, will speak on Sunday November 1, 10:30-12Noon

In the 1950s and 1960s, Hollywood producers entered a gentleman's agreement to avoid making films about Jewish subjects; in particular the Holocaust.
The recent historical tragedy of unimaginable proportions was deemed to be beyond representation. It wasn't until SCHINDLER'S LIST in 1993 that the subject was dramatized directly and graphically.
Nonetheless, occasional films during the postwar era approached the Holocaust and the Final Solution with varying degrees of candor.
In his presentation, Foster Hirsch will discuss THE JUGGLER (1952), THE YOUNG LIONS (1958), THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK (1959), and THE PAWNBROKER (1965).
Full brunch included. $10 pre-paid by Wed Oct 28; $15 at the door
Come join us!Call the Temple office at 201-833-1322 to register or for more information.

Signed, discounted copies of the book will be available for purchase at the Teaneck Historical Society’s Nov. 1 event.
“We are delighted to have Mike as a guest speaker,” said Jacqueline Kates, Society president. “His expertise and perspective on the tragic events of September 11 are relevant to our lives today.
