Teaneck Garden club invites all to view beautiful gardens

The Garden Club of Teaneck meeting will feature Laura Palmer, director since 1995 of the Garden Conservancy Open Day Program. She will speak about the national preservation work of the Garden Conservancy, its Open Days program, and the 2012 garden-visiting season. Open Days aim to encourage community members at large to visit others’ gardens and to open their gardens to the public so that Green (and not-so-green) Thumbers can benefit from seeing others’ horticultural efforts, solutions and successes. Each year, the Open Days Program recruits more than 300 private gardens and records more than 72,000 visits.
Before joining the Garden Conservancy, Laura worked with various non-profit organizations: the Union of Concerned Scientists (Cambridge, MA); the Jane Goodall Institute (Boulder, CO); Vassar College (Poughkeepsie, NY); and others. She lives and gardens in Millbrook, New York.
Free. All are cordially invited to attend this hearty antidote to winter blues&greys.
