Holy Name’s EMS Summit to Highlight Critical Decisions in Stroke Care, From 911 to the Hospital

Holy Name’s EMS Summit will bring together emergency medical services professionals for an evening of education, hands-on learning and discussion focused on the critical decisions that can make a difference in outcomes for patients experiencing stroke and other neurological emergencies.

Titled “When the Clock Starts Ticking: From 911 to the Hospital — Critical Decisions. Better Outcomes,” the event will take place Wednesday, September 2, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Teaneck Marriott at Glenpointe, 100 Frank W. Burr Boulevard, Teaneck, N.J. EMS professionals can earn 2 CEU credits while learning about advances in emergency neurological care.

The featured presentation will be led by Eleonora Spinazzi, MD, a cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgeon with Columbia University Irving Medical Center and Holy Name. Dr. Spinazzi will discuss how rapid recognition, timely intervention and advanced minimally invasive treatments are helping improve outcomes for patients with stroke and other neurological emergencies through the recently established Holy Name Neuroendovascular Institute.

Following the presentation, attendees will participate in interactive breakout stations covering key areas of emergency neurological care, including:

• Stroke recognition and large vessel occlusions (LVOs)
• Clot retrievers
• Aneurysm management and treatment
• The Holy Name Neuroscience Center
