Saturday March 24, hundreds of Students and Adults joined for the March For Our Lives on the steps of the Hackensack Court House. Bergen County took part in what has become a cry around the world to demand that Students lives and safety become a priority to Government and called for the end of gun violence and mass shootings in our schools and communities.
19 High Schools where represented, Students from the following High Schools organized the Bergen County March For Our Lives Hackensack: Allendale, Bergenfield, Bergen Tech, Closter, Cresskill, Demarest, Emerson, Fair Lawn, Franklin Lakes, Glen Rock, Hackensack, Haworth, HoHo Kus, Lyndhurst, Mahwah, Montvale, Oakland, Oradell, Ramsey, Ridgewood, River Edge, Saddle River, Teaneck, Tenafly, Upper Saddle River, Westwood, Woodcliff Lake, Wyckoff.
Gov. Phil Murphy spoke in Newark to an estimated crowd of 5,000 plus and New Jersey's First Lady Tammy Murphy attended a march in Hackensack. In addition to The STUDENTS, other speakers include - the First Lady and mother, Tammy Murphy, representatives from Sandyhook Promise (Jeanne Theisen) and the Brady Campaign (Dwight Panozzo), Congressman Josh Gottheimer, CLERGY, and other community leaders.
