Pedestrian Struck, Police Make National Rank in Top Teaneck News

An 88-year-old woman was in serious condition after she was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Cedar Lane and Palisade Avenue Monday afternoon, Teaneck police said. 

The  has earned an independent accreditation that will provide a better defense against lawsuits and certifies the agency follows national “best practices” in more than a hundred areas, officials said Tuesday. 

Three people were hospitalized Saturday after an early morning crash on the New Jersey Turnpike, including a teenage girl who was thrown from a car and a motorist trapped in the wreck, authorities said. The Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps assisted in the hours-long rescue. 

The governor of New Mexico has called on lawmakers to update the state’s prostitution laws after a judge cleared a former college president and  professor on charges they ran an online brothel, the Associated Press reported. 

A 43-year-old Teaneck man was in intensive care after being stabbed by his landlord Friday at a two-family house where they both live on Bogert Street, according to township police.
