Stop And Shop Opens New Store in Tenafly

The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company LLC celebrated the official grand re-opening of its Tenafly, NJ store located at 34 West Railroad Avenue, on Friday, May 20th. Stop & Shop closed the store on April 14th to begin a complete remodeling. The renovations include new décor, an expanded produce department with a vastly increased offering of organic fruits and vegetables and a wide selection of cut fruit, an upgraded full-service seafood department, an expanded cheese selection, increased natural, organic, gluten free and kosher offerings, SCAN IT! technology and Self-Scan checkout.

“Stop & Shop has served the Tenafly community since 2001. We’re looking forward to providing the community with a modern new facility, a vastly expanded Produce, Natural and Organic offering, and an additional 25 new jobs to support the Tenafly community.” said Don Sussman, Stop & Shop New York Metro Division President. “We will continue to offer the residents of Tenafly the service, selection and value they expect and deserve.”

Stephanie Duffy has been appointed store manager to lead a team of more than 115 full and part-time associates. The Tenafly Stop & Shop hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 7:00am – 11:00pm and Sunday, 7:00am – 10:00pm.

In celebration of the Grand Re-Opening Stop & Shop announced a $2,500 donation to the Tenafly Volunteer Ambulance Corp.

More on the technological advances:

• Deli Vision is a customer-friendly technology for making deli shopping easier and faster. It enables customers to select what they want, get a printout of their choices and total price. When the customer is ready, their deli selection will be available for pick-up.
• SCAN IT! is a hand held scanner that helps Stop & Shop customers simplify their shopping experience by allowing them to scan and bag groceries while they shop. The device keeps a running tally of the total bill, which allows customers to price-check and manage their budgets as they shop.
• SCAN IT! MOBILE offers a mobile, in-store shopping experience where customers can shop, tally and check out through their mobile phones.
