Teaneck Fire Damages Home, But None Injured

Local fire officials responded to the home on Englewood Avenue on Saturday morning. The home was damaged, but no one was hurt.

TEANECK, NJ — A Saturday morning house fire caused damage to a home on Englewood Avenue, but no one was injured.

Teaneck fire officials said the fire was reported just before the Saturday morning shift change, calling a number of departments and ambulances to the home in the area of Englewood Avenue and Nelden Road.

"This morning, shortly before shift change, our desk was notified by neighbor, that there was a house fire at Englewood Ave and Nelden Rd," officials said.

"BC 4 arrived on scene and requested a 2nd alarm for the working structure fire. Members of the 3rd Platoon made a offensive attack and knocked the fire down."

No injuries were reported.

"Good job Teaneck Fire Department with a quick response to a working house fire at Englewood and Nelden with assistance from Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps Teaneck Police Department City of Hackensack Fire Department and Bergenfield Fire Department," Deputy Mayor Mark J. Schwartz said.

Also responding to the scene were Bogota, Englewood, Hackensack and Ridgefield Park Fire Departments.

The local ambulance corps also responded to the scene.

"Ambulances 74, 71 and 73 responded and provided EMS rehab to all the Teaneck and mutual aid firefighters operating on the scene," Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps officials said.
