Teaneck Resident Charged In Englewood Convenience Store Robbery
Two Bergen County residents face charges after one held the clerk at knifepoint while the other stole cartons of cigarettes, officials said.
ENGLEWOOD, NJ — A Teaneck resident faces charges after the Bergen County Prosecutor said she was involved in an Englewood robbery where a convenience store clerk was held at knifepoint.
Monica Peters-Gore, of Teaneck, and Gary Williams, of Engelewood, face robbery and unlawful weapons possession charges stemming back from the July 15 robbery.
According to officials, Peters-Gore and Williams entered a convenience store at 476 Grand Ave. in Englewood around 3:50 a.m. on July 15. Video surveillance showed that one person forced the clerk to the ground and held them at knifepoint while the other took "several" cartons of cigarettes, police said. Both then fled the scene.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad and the Englewood Police Department identified Peters-Gore as a suspect, and she was arrested a few hours after the robbery by Teaneck police during a motor vehicle stop. Evidence tying Williams to the robbery was discovered during the stop, police said.
Detectives from the Englewood Police Department arrested Williams on July 21 without incident, police said.

Both are awaiting an appearance in court at the Bergen County Jail.
