Films, panel discussions planned at Temple Emeth

The following was submitted by :
Temple Emeth, 1666 Windsor Road, Teaneck is once again demonstrating its community involvement and commitment to fostering the arts by hosting two very important documentaries and panel discussions on the final day of the Teaneck International Film Festival, Sunday, November 13. Gen Silent will be shown at 4 p.m. and Standing Silent will close the festival at 8 p.m.
Gen Silent puts a face on an epidemic - gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender older people so afraid of discrimination by caregivers or bullying by other seniors that many simply go back into the closet. Standing Silent is based on the stories of Baltimore Jewish Times reporter Phil Jacobs whose multiyear investigation revealed sexual abuse from Baltimore to Brooklyn, to the streets of Jerusalem by trusted and powerful religious leaders in Orthodox communities. Filmmakers, including Barrie Atkin, executive producer of Gen Silent and Phil Jacobs and Scott Rosenfelt (director) of Standing Silent will participate in the post-screening discussions with other guests.
