Thursdays Are For Poetry At The Teaneck General Store features Denise LaNeve, co-founder of The North Jersey Literary Society which holds Poetry Readings at Classic Quiche, in Teaneck, the Fourth Saturday of each month. Denise has been involved with the literary scene in North Jersey for many years. A brief bio follows:

Denise La Neve writes both poetry and fiction. Her work is character-driven, and sometimes historical in nature. Denise’s poetry appeared in the 2010 anthology Beyond the Rift: Poets of the Palisades (Poet’s Press http://www.poetspress.org/), as well as in the annual Red Wheel Barrow Anthology, Sensations Magazine, and the Istanbul Literary Review. Her short story ‘Whoru’ won the prize for best fiction in a contest sponsored by Sensations Magazine and was published in 2007.

Denise was one of five editors (along with John J. Trause, Paul Nash, Susanna Rich and David Messineo) who selected the poetry and thematically organized the Beyond the Rift collection. She is currently working on a personal collection of themed poetry, and will be one of the editors of an upcoming poetry anthology for The Poet’s Press (due to be published in early 2016

Thursdays Are For Poetry will meet this month only, on the fourth Thursday of this month, January 22, 2015, at 7:30 p.m. Donation of $6.00 covers donation and Fair Trade Coffee. Open mic follows featured reading.
