Trinidad Family Crash Survivor Discharged From Delaware Hospital
Mary Rose Ballocanag survived the crash that killed her husband, Audie Marquez Trinidad, and their 4 kids in Delaware July 6.

TEANECK, NJ — Mary Rose Ballocanag has been discharged from the hospital she had been a patient at for nearly three weeks since her four daughters and husband were killed in a crash on a Delaware highway July 6.
Ballocanag, 53, has been discharged from Christina Hospital, said hospital spokesperson Jennifer Baldino Bonett.
Ballocanag will undergo physical therapy at a New Jersey facility. Ballocanag hopes to become mobile enough where she can complete the funeral arrangements for her husband, Audie Marquez Trinidad, 61, and their four daughters, Kaitlyn, 20, Danna, 17, and 13-year-old twins, Melissa and Allison, said Linda Douglas, a family friend said on a GoFundMe page that was set up to help Ballocanag pay for the funeral expenses.

Ballocanag hopes to participate in the funeral, Douglas said.
More than $278,000 has been donated to help Ballocanag pay for the funeral and other expenses.

A notice on the Zuasola-Grillo Filipino Funeral Service states that services have not yet been announced for the family.
The family, who lived in Teaneck, was killed when a their 1998 Toyota Sienna minivan collided with a Ford F-350 that crossed over a center median from the southbound lanes to the northbound lanes on Route 1 in Townsend, Delaware State Police previously said.
The Ford's driver, Alvin S. Hubbard Jr., 44, was treated for minor injuries sustained in the crash. Police have not said what exactly may have caused Hubbard to veer into the other lanes of traffic.
The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the crash, said Delaware State Police Cpl. Melissa Jaffe.
Following the crash and learning that her family died, Ballocanag told her aunt she was "alone."
Audie Trinidad grew up in the Philippines and, in 1987, he came to the United States when he enlisted in the Navy and served for seven years, according to The Record. "He was proud to be an American," said his brother, Danny, told the publication. "That's why he joined the Navy."
Kaitlyn and Dana were both setters on the Teaneck High School head volleyball team, according to the publication. "They were both great players who were loved by all of their teammates," Teaneck head coach Sue Cipriano told nj.com.
"You wish every player had their work ethic and worked to the best of their ability like those two ... They were some of the hardest working girls I've ever coached. Everyone needs to know how truly amazing they were."
