2 Juveniles Charged In Toms River Assault; Victim Hospitalized

Police were notified about the assault after the victim was taken to the hospital with a serious injury.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A pair of juveniles have been charged with second-degree aggravated assault after an incident that resulted in a person being hospitalized, Toms River police said.

The incident happened in the early hours of Aug. 10, Toms River police said, confirming a tip Patch received. But police did not provide details on where the assault happened or the circumstances surrounding the assault.

Toms River police learned of the assault when they were called to the emergency room at Community Medical Center at 12:45 a.m. after a person was brought in with a serious bodily injury.

The investigation by the detective bureau led to the identification of two juveniles as the assailants, police said. Because they are minors, police did not release any additional information. They also did not release information about the victim, to protect the victim.
