4 Hurt In Toms River Crash As Pickup Lands Atop Volkswagen GTI
Police said the crash resulted from one driver running a stop sign.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Four people were injured Wednesday when a car ran a stop sign and caused a pickup truck to overturn and land on another car in Toms River, police said
Noah Colino, 20; Frank Guzzi, 40; John Bordonaro, 37, all of Toms River, and a 6-year-old child who was a passenger in Bordonaro's car all suffered injuries in the crash that happened about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, said Jillian Messina, media specialist for the Toms River Police Department.
The crash happened at the intersection of Garfield and Adams avenues when Colino, who was driving a Nissan Altima east on Adams failed to stop at the stop sign and hit a Ford F250 pickup truck driven by Guzzi, Messina said.

Guzzi was driving south on Garfield and the impact caused his pickup truck to overturn and land on top of a Volkswagen GTI driven by Bordonaro, she said.
Colino refused medical treatment at the scene, but Bordonaro, his 6-year-old passenger, and Guzzi, were taken to Community Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

Colino was cited for failure to stop/yield at a stop sign, she said.
The accident is being investigated by Toms River Traffic Safety Officer Robert Westfall.
