The Downtown Toms River 2011 Farmers Market opens for business on Wednesday, June 8 in Huddy Park. The market will be open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Wednesday through October. On the first Wednesday of each month, shoppers can enter to win a basket of the featured Jersey Fresh fruit and vegetable plus other items donated by market vendors. The first drawing will be June 8th for a basket of delicious fresh strawberries, crisp lettuce and more.

The Farmers Market will be held rain or shine every Wednesday in Huddy Park, which is located at the intersection of Main and Water streets in Toms River. Metered parking is available on the lower level of the parking deck across from Huddy Park.

The Garden State has a long growing season and moderate temperatures that allow farmers offer a wide array of produce, giving visitors to the Farmers Market a great selection of fresh, locally grown produce. Participating farmers include: DeWolf’s Farm, E.R. & Son Organic Farm, Farmer Al's Market, and Krowicki's Farm Market. Locally grown flowers and hanging baskets will also be on sale.
In addition to the wide assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables, the market will also offer many other fresh specialty products. This year welcomes Cummings Seafood, selling fresh seafood, and Mrs. B’s Kettle Korn offering freshly popped kettle korn.

Returning favorites include Herbertsville Honey Company with their local honey, handcrafted soaps, skin creams, and lip balms; A & B Bakery, selling baked goods, specialty cookies and natural dog treats; Momma’s Homemade, featuring delicious homemade applesauce; City 2 Shore Gourmet, offering a selection of balsamic vinegars, dipping and infused oils; Lithuanian Bakery with their huge assortment of bakery products including bread, rolls, muffins, cakes, pies, danish, strudels, and more; PickleLicious, offering pickles, pickled-products, and olives; Nuts For You selling a large selection of peanuts, nuts, candy, and snow cones; and Italian Treasures will be selling regular and stuffed breads, cheeses, roasted red peppers, sun dried tomatoes.
