Toms River police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect in an armed robbery that happened Thursday morning at the PNC Bank.
The suspect is a white male, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-8 with black hair and wearing a button-down shirt under his long black coat, Toms River Police spokesman Ralph Stocco said. The shirt is said to be blue. He also was wearing a large ring on his left hand, Stocco said.
The man entered the PNC Bank on Wrangle Brook Drive about 10 a.m. and displayed a semiautomatic handgun while demanding money. After he received an undetermined amount of cash, he ran out the front door and got into a small black sport utility vehicle with lightly tinted windows and fled east on Route 37, Stocco said.
