Hear the History of The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson at the Upper Shores Library

LAVALLETTE – Join Jimmy Scalia as he shines the light on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and catch a glimpse of the many guests that appeared on the show at 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 9 at the Upper Shores Branch of the Ocean County Library.

Regarded as the King of Late Night Television, Johnny Carson hosted The Tonight Show from 1962 to 1992, making it the longest-running late night show of all time. Throughout his tenure, Carson interviewed countless notable figures, including politicians, comedians, and actors.

Jimmy Scalia is the official Bobby Darin archivist and works in cooperation with the Darin estate. He also hosts programs on New Jersey music, the Italian American songbook, the Apollo Theater, and the songwriters and singers of the Brill Building.
