No Injuries As Car Smashes Into Salon In Toms River: Police

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A salon in Stella Plaza was significantly damaged Monday afternoon when a car went through the front of the business, Toms River police said.

There were no injuries reported, Toms River Police Chief Mitchell Little said.

Little said the preliminary information on the crash was that a 72-year-old Toms River man was parking at the plaza, 1846 Hooper Ave., when he hit the accelerator instead of the brake. The car went over the curb and into the front of Alchemy Hair Studio, coming to rest inside the business, Little said.

The Toms River building department responded and the salon was described as destroyed, he said.
