Adoption fees waived for event at Northern And Southern Ocean County Animal Shelters

They wait patiently, glancing up at visitors who stop by their runs or tap on their cages, hoping to be noticed, hoping for a new home.

This is the life of a shelter dog or cat.

You can change that this Saturday. Both the Southern Ocean Animal Shelter and the Northern Ocean Animal Shelter are making it very easy to adopt a dog or cat.

Summer is typically the time when shelters are overwhelmed with animals. So both shelters are hosting a huge adoption event from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., where adoption fees will be waived, according to the Friends of Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter’s Facebook page.

“Our shelter is full, our rescues are full, ” according to the group’s Facebook page. ”If you can help us by opening your hearts and homes to one or more of these cuddly paws, we and you would be forever grateful. If you can’t please share and share again.”
