Parkway Crash Killed Brothers, Marine & Aspiring Police Officer

The fatal crash in Toms River early Wednesday morning killed four young men who were working to build their futures.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — The four young men killed in an early morning crash on the Garden State Parkway on Wednesday included one who was aspiring to be a police officer, a U.S. Marine and a pair of brothers, one of whom was a dean's list student in college.

Kevin Quispe-Prieto, 21, of Beachwood, Jimmy Quispe-Prieto, 23; Victor Lugo, 24, and Robert "Bobby" Ordeñana, 23, all of Lakewood, were killed in the crash that happened at milepost 81.3 southbound on the Garden State Parkway about 2:50 a.m., New Jersey State Police said in an update releasing the names.

Kevin Quispe-Prieto was driving the Infiniti G37 sedan when it crashed into the back of the tanker truck, police said. The four died at the scene of the crash, police said. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Related: 4 Fatal Victims ID'd In Garden State Parkway Crash In Toms River

Lugo worked for the Lakewood Public Works Department and hoped to become a police officer, the Lakewood Scoop reported. He also has a family member in the Lakewood Police Department, the report said.

Ordeñana has been serving in the Marines since 2014, according to his Facebook page.

Brothers Jimmy and Kevin Quispe-Prieto both attended Toms River High School East.

Kevin, a 2016 graduate, ran track at Toms River East and went on to attend Wilkes University, where he was studying computer science and was named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2017 semester. It's not clear from his Facebook account whether he was still studying at the university.

Jimmy Quispe-Prieto showed extensive interest in art, from public posts on his Facebook account.
