From Bad to Worse: More Power Out; Roads Closing

As the temperatures drop, water on roads is freezing.

Somerset County and Warren Township have closed many major roads in Warren, due to ice, and township schools and Watchung Hills Regional will be closed Monday.

According to the latest updates from JCP&L, 6,625 township customers are without power.  That's the highest total since the nor'easter struck—and more than were without power following Hurricane Irene.

PSE&G is reporting between one and 500 customers without service.

Many roads in Warren were closed througout the day due to downed trees and limbs. Residents in search of power and Internet connections at area businesses were hampered in their searches by blocked roads.

Somerset County announced road closures for Mt. Horeb, Washington Valley, Morning Glory, Hillcrest and parts of Stirling roads between 7:51 p.m. and 8:01 p.m.
