Lazo, Marion File for Committee Race
With today's deadline passed, Township Clerk Patricia DeRocco says only two filed for spots on the June primary.
After today's 4 p.m. filing deadline for municipal races in the June primary, only Republicans George Lazo and Michael Marion had filed petitions to seek party nominations.
The June 7 primary will determine each party's nominations for the two seats on the Township Committee voters will fill in the November general election. Hopeful candidates can file petitions to be included in the fall ballots.
Voters will fill the Township Committee seats held by Mal Plager and Frank Salvato in November, with their terms expiring Dec. 31.

Lazo has served on the township's Recreation Commission, and is active in the Pop Warner sports program, spearheading the group's Little Scholars program. Marion has also been active in the Pop Warners program.
