String Quartet to Perform at Library

Special group includes members of New Jersey Youth Symphony.

A quartet of young musician will perform Shostakovich's "String Quartet no. 8" and the first movement of Schubert's "String Quartet 'Death and the Maiden'" at 2 p.m. Saturday at .

The quartet will include North Plainfield residents Johanna Nowik and Lucia Nowik, on viola and first violin, Warren resident and student Cecelia Sha, on cello, and Scotch Plains student Alex Wang, on second violin.

All four musicians are members of the New Jersey Youth Symphony. This fall, Lucia will be attending the Juilliard School in New York City, where she will be majoring in violin performance.  Violinist Alex Wang attends Union County Magnet High School for Math and Science, and studies violin under Yousun Kin, of Warren.
