Warren Mayor and Committee passed a resolution asking Gov. Murphy to allow in-person machine voting for the upcoming general election.

WARREN, NJ — Warren officials passed a resolution urging Gov. Phil Murphy and the state to allow in-person machine voting for the upcoming general election on Nov. 3.

The resolution was unanimously passed by the committee during Thursday's virtual meeting.

"This is something the township committee feels very strongly about," Mayor Micahel "Mick" Marion said at the meeting.

The resolution expressed alleged concerns such as voter fraud, voter disenfranchisement, postal delivery delays, significant increase in election costs, and reliance on a statewide voter/DMV computer registration database.

The resolution also mentions that requiring the use of mail-in ballots resulted in significant delays in the counting of ballots and determining the outcome of the primary election.

"The Warren Township Committee of the Township of Warren feels that voter 'choice' should refer to 'how' to vote, not just 'who' to vote for in a given election cycle," according to the resolution.

The resolution was sent to the New Jersey Secretary of State, the Governor of the State of New Jersey; the President of the New Jersey State Senate; the Speaker of the General Assembly; the Somerset County Legislative Delegation, the New Jersey League of Municipalities.
