Who's the Next Harry Potter?
The next big thing for younger readers may surprise you.

With in full swing and Back-to-School around the corner, books are on parents' and students' minds right now.
So what could be the next big books for kids? Based on the number of holds at the library, Antonette D'Orazio, Warren's Head of Youth Services, has two in mind.
"Throne of Fire," the second in the Kane Chronicles series by Rick Riordan has been a hot item among younger library patrons.

"It has been out all summer," said D'Orazio of the book that came out in May 2011.
It isn't a big surprise to D'Orazio as Riordan's Percy Jackson series was also very popular, especially after the first book, "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief," was made into a movie. (A movie based on the second book is expected in 2012).

However, she admitted to being a little caught off guard by just how many people still want to read "Throne of Fire." There are 64 holds system-wide on the book, 27 holds on the book's large-print version and even five holds on the audio book.
"Throne of Fire," recommended for ages 10 and up, held the top spot for eight weeks on the New York Times bestseller list for children's chapter books and is still enjoying popularity at no. 2.
But that's nothing compared to the stir the new "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" book is causing—and it's not even available yet.
"Cabin Fever," the sixth book in the series by Jeff Kinney that already has two movies, is not due until this Nov. 15. The library ordered 15 copies in May and once something is ordered it can be put on hold even if it isn't in the library yet—and patrons have certainly taken advantage of that.
So far, there are 61 holds on the book and counting.
"For a kid's book that's a lot," said D'Orazio, adding that they might have to order more if the demand continues to rise.
If you haven't read either series, now is your chance to get started. "The Red Pyramid," the first of the Kane Chronicles, only has a paltry half-dozen holds. Many of the first five "Wimpy Kid" books have minimal holds.
However, you will have a long wait if your kids want to see the movie based on the second Wimpy book, "Rodrick Rules"—it has a whopping 115 holds.
