Office Breaks Coming Soon: Laser Tag

Having a bad day at the office? The kind where you feel like you need a break from social niceties and want to be a little more aggressive?

Hold on because when the Bounce Factory open on Mt. Bethel Road later this month, you'll have a chance to treat them to lunch—then blast 'em in the laser tag room.

"I've had people come in already and ask if they can play laser tag," owner Anthony D'Amato said.

So, he's accomodating: a $13.99 lunch special will include two slices of pizza—and 40 minutes of laser tag in the huge, two-level laser tag room.

Of course customers will be able to drop in anytime during open hours to enjoy a little fun, but D'Amato believes many may want to get in a little mid-day exercise and lunch.

The Bounce Factory is getting ready to open ahead of its first booked event—a June 28 party for some Warren school students—and after more than four months of construction, the walls are up, the fixtures ready to go in and soon, the inflatable slides and games will be blown up.

"It's starting to feel more real," D'Amato said, gazing around the laser tag room.

Among the services that will set Bounce Factory apart from other party locations, D'Amato said, will be the center's warming kitchen, enabling customers to purchase food provided by some of the area's favorite shops, including pizza from  and Ridge Pizza, frozen yogurt from, and ice cream from . He's also arranged for items from Biagio's Gourmet Specialties in Stirling.

In fact, the only items he said paty planned will need to bring will be cupcakes and birthday cakes.

"Who am I to tell someone they can't bring in their kid's favorite cake?" he said.

He's also working on filling a few open jobs at the center, planning at least two job fair events for applicants ( send an email to find out out more about the openings).

Later this week, several art students from Watchung Hills Regional will be in to add some customize painting to the Bounce Fcatory's walls, and after that the center's video recording system will be installed.

"I'm very concerned about the security inside and out," D'Amato said.

Although the video is primarily for safety, there will be an added feature: a room outside of the laser tag room will have banks of monitors of the action inside—perfect for those lunch-time players looking to keep track of there the cubicle neighbor who keeps taking the stapler is...
