John Lennon, Baseball Coach at DePaul for 30 Years, Steps Down
Three-time county champion and coach of the year will remain the athletic director.

Longtime baseball coach Joe Lennon announced Friday he is retiring effective immediately.
Lennon taught the ins and outs of America’s Pastime for 43 years, 30 of them at DePaul.
“I want to thank all of the past players for all their dedication to the game of baseball; they made coaching easy,” Lennon said in a statement released Friday.

Lennon leaves behind a legacy of winning. He accumulated 433 wins during his tenure and Passaic County Championships in 2001, 2011, and 2012. He was named county coach of the year each of those three years.
The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association presented Lennon with the Baseball Award in last December for “his service in the field of interscholastic athletics and his dedication to the student-athletes of our state over an extended period of time,” the statement released Friday night said.
