Mark Simon, 60, said he was going to take care of the officers' families after he killed them, police said.

WAYNE, N.J. — A township man threatened to murder three Wayne police officers after they confronted him while he was drunk Tuesday night, Detective Capt. Laurence Martin said.

Officers John Barrows, Thomas Kartanowicz, and Robert Franciose of the Warrant Squad responded to Tanager Court on a report of a disorderly man at 6:15 p.m., Martin said. The police tried calming Mark Simon down using conflict resolution techniques, but couldn't.

Simon got into a fighting stance and shouted "Dallas, Dallas, Dallas, police brutality, dallas, police brutality," Martin said. He refused to answer questions and shouted, "You are here to protect and serve and I will ask the questions," and "Dallas, Dallas, f--- you, Dallas."
