Gloucester County Libraries Expand Online Services Amid Pandemic
The Gloucester County Library System has always offered online services, and they are expanding them amid the coronavirus pandemic.
GLOUCESTER COUNTY, NJ — The Gloucester County Library System has always offered online programming including eBooks, music, magazines, TV shows, movies, comics, mobile apps and eAudiobooks.
Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, that selection has only grown, according to officials.
“The COVID-19 pandemic forced everyone to learn adaptability, and we are proud of the services the Gloucester County Library System has created to accommodate our residents,” Gloucester County Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said.

Story times, book discussions, cooking videos, STEM videos and local history videos are all some of those new additions. They also launched Contactless Pickup services and online tutoring.

“The library has not stopped assisting residents with resources and activities while we quarantine during COVID-19,” Freeholder Lyman Barnes, liaison to Gloucester County Library System, said. “Our libraries continue to make content accessible for everyone and it’s beginning to reach a new audience thanks to new online programming.”
The library system is currently open to the public with limited access, limited computer usage and special hours for immunocompromised or seniors over 65. For more information on the library, visit www.gcls.org or call 856-223-6000.
As of Wednesday, there are 4,836 positive cases of the coronavirus in Gloucester County, and 223 deaths related to the virus. Gloucester County has conducted 63,463 total tests. Of these cases, 58,627 have come back negative. One case has been moved out of the county. Trace investigations are underway in all new cases.
